I was pleasantly surprised that the process was not biased
I must admit that I really thought that the case handler would be heavily weighted in favour of the views of my patient.However, I was relieved to be asked for my own balanced contribution to events and the case handler was able to form a really unbiased and sensible commentary around what had occured and how likely this situation happens in the context of past procedure statistics.A sensible resolution was suggested which benefitted me as a Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetics provider.I was encouraged to settle with a ‘ex gratia’ amount which proabably saved me a lot of unnecessary legal expense and time.I was particularly pleased that my insurer was not involved, so my premium will remain unaffected

My caseworker , Rebecca, went through everything and helped me to complete a chronology and to provide relevent images.She produced a report which i approved and my Doctor was invited to comment and add his own contribution to what had occured
I was so relieved to be able to hand over the stress and not to feel intimidated by having to communicate directly with my Doctor. Rebecca was able to explain what had happened and i was reassured that although i was not happy with the aesthetic outcome of my procedure, that the reaction to the product that occured was not unusual and I was just unlucky.She was able to suggest a number of options as to what might be helpful to improve the aesthetic in the future and my Doctor really seemed to listen to her suggestions and offered me a free treatment as well as a partial refund of my original procedure.
